April 7 Meeting

April 7th 2009 General Membership Meeting Minute

The meeting was called to order at 700p.m

Secretary’s report is in the newsletter.

Treasurers’ Report : As of March 31st there is $1,119.07 in the checking acct. and $2,271.45 in the savings acct.

New member, Linda Guynn , was introduced to the members.

Committee Reports:

ANAC: Take in for the ANAC show selection is April 18th at the Bellevue Library, from 10:00-11:30. A total of 9 pieces will be chosen by Dr. Joyce Wilson of Bellevue University. It was requested that all ANAC members participate.

Opportunities:

The La Casa show is in progress. The Bellevue University Show will be June 29th-July 26th. The A.C. Lofton Student Art Show will take place on April 26th at Bellevue East H.S. BAA supports this show with a $100.00 contribution. The Culinary Arts Council is looking for an artist to make a sculpture. Contact Don O’Connell for a contact number. Bonnie Rodgers brought books to sell at the meeting.

Workshops:

Peter Yesis may do another workshop in June or July. Donna Aldredge of the Pastel Assoc. of Kansas contacted Marge and is willing to do a pastel workshop. Donna would like to start a chapter of the Pastel Assoc. in Omaha. It is $7.00/year to join the Neb. Arts Council. Donna Ament presented an opportunity for a 2 day workshop in Beatrice on May 8th and 9th. See the info sheet or this months’ newsletter.

Video Library:

Dick Provost reported that there are about 20 videos missing from the library. Members are asked to check if they may have a video at home to return. Publicity: Mary Schmidt has submitted BAA meeting information to the Bellevue Leader.

Programs:

Marge Boska will call Liz Fleur to confirm that she will present a program at the May Meeting.

Artist of the Month:

This months’ theme is “Foul Play”. Barb Linder was the winner for this month.
